Gravel, Groading, Grinding, Grrrrrrrr’ing, Bam-Bam, Vitamin G, Gray Pow, Mixed Surfacing, New Roading, Liminal Shredzing, and Connectoring are all just colloquialisms, slang terms, synonymous, euphemisms, etc., for the same thing; All Terrain Bicycling aka ATB. For some (many) the official terminology of this the newest and greatest of cycling disciplines is almost entirely about semantics, but for us it’s about something so much more substantial—product development, innovation, technology and design. While so many traditional cycling disciplines happen in one very specific environment with a collection of hyper specialized equipment, ATB requires functionality in myriad conditions, climates and landscapes. And often for extended periods of time. Which is why ATB clothing and equipment is, currently, the literal and metaphorical vanguard of wearable engineering. See for yourself.
